Summer Hiatus Photos

Taking a break for July. Will return refreshed and full of vim, vigor, and vitality in mid-August!

Ready to talk about all kinds of new releases and maybe a few from the past as well. While you’re waiting, here are a handful of random photos from a few of my favorite places. My apologies for the random order.

From Highway 1 (slowly falling into the Pacific) on the Northern California Coast
On the island in Maine
Yosemite (a religious experience)
Machu Picchu (visited so long, long, long ago)
Monterey, CA
Costa Rica friend
Yellowstone National Park (where you can boil like a lobster if you’re not careful)
Grand Tetons National Park (glorious and rugged)
Black Hills National Forest (where the sure-footed survive)
Niagara Falls under the moon
Niagara Falls from the Canadian side
Swiss Family Robinson, Maine Style
Joshua Tree National Park (exquisite desert beauty)
Lake Tahoe from the top of Squaw Valley
Someone stole a banana (Costa Rica)
A seagull unimpressed by the Americas Cup on San Francisco Bay (2013) – Angel Island in the background
Tahoe – heading to Sugar Bowl (where powder people play)
Namibia – Namib-Naukluft – Sossusvlei
Botswana – Chobe
Botswana – Nxai Pan
Botswana – Moremi – Wish this pic of the wild dogs was better. They’ve got such great ears!
Note the size of that termite mound in comparison to our truck…
Keeping cool in the Kalahari
Hiking through the bush in Hluhluwe–iMfolozi
Tried not to get to close to the Cape Buffalo
Curious sorts
Etosha pan – Yes, that would be me and infinity

Okay, time to go read some books….take a few walks…..go sailing…..play in the water…..pick some berries….and turn off the alarm clock…..

See you in August!

What gorgeous photos, Jilanne! I so enjoyed them! I’ve been to a few of those places – even honeymooned in Joshua Tree so we could go rock climbing 😊 Enjoy your hiatus and all the lovely things you have planned!
